Truth as Perspective.
By:
Having looked through old threads I noticed someone 'attacking', simply for lack of a better word, a post I made explaining what I viewed to be true. This person seemed to feel that I shouldn't be saying it because he didn't believe it or at least that I shouldn't be saying it as if it were true. This thread is not specifically about that, but inspired by that.

The 'truth' of a matter is based upon our own perspective. For example, Terrorism. Such a useful topic for so many things. For many people they would say it is true that the Terrorists are evil, or true that they are causing bad things to happen, but from a terrorist's point of view it would be true that the terrorists are causing GOOD things to happen and making the world a better place.

Another example is with religions. Taking Christianity and Satanism as an example, many Satanists would say it is true that their religion is the real religion and that their Satan is the only higher power whereas Christians would say that God is the only God and that Satanism isn't the "true religion", Christianity is. For one their is one truth, for the other the opposite is true, for members of either religion they would believe themselves to be right and thus speak the truth with what they say. Whether or not that truth is the truth of reality, they are not lying with their words so they must be telling the truth.

Confusing as this may be, it makes sense if you think about it the right way. Truth is perspective, facts are reality, that's what I'm trying to say here.

The start of religions, can any be proven? Is there an solid and indisputable PROOF that Christianity is a false religion? Is there any solid and indisputable proof that every other religion is false while Christianity is not? No for both. For some any of the three may be true of false, but none can actually be proven, so the truth or falseness is based on your own belief and nothing more. Your truth is based on what you believe.

For any who have had trouble understanding this, view it under these descriptions.
'The' Truth; a truth that can be proven as true.
Personal Truth; a truth that may or may not be provable, but is mostly based on your own beliefs/faith.
False; anything that is not true/provable.
Personal False; the lack of belief/faith in someone else's personal truth.

A few examples of Personal Truth, "The" Truth, Personal False, and Simply False.

Personal Truth: Followers of Christianity
Christians tend to believe what the Bible teaches. What is in the Bible can not be disproved and, although some of it can be proven, not all of it can be proven either. It can not be proven true nor false.
So the Followers of Christianity would hold the Christian Religion as a Personal Truth.

"The" Truth: Light
Light helps people to see. This is a fact of reality, so it is "The Truth" that light helps people to see. If you need this proven for you; turn off your light in the middle of the night so that there is no light in your room. If you can see perfectly fine, congratulations you have very special eyes. If you can't see at all, that's because you turned off the light. So turn it back on. The light helps you see.
That is The Truth.

Personal False: Anti-Christians
Anti-Christians tend to not believe what the Bible teaches. What is in the Bible can not be disproved and, although some of it can be proven, not all of it can be proven either. As a whole it can not be proven true nor false.
So the Anti-Christians would hold the Christian Religion as a Personal False, they don't believe in it even though it can not be proven false.

Simply False: Humans can fly without any help from technology or magick.
People have tried, people have failed. We do not have wings, we do not have some natural form of jet pack, we do not glide, we can not fly. We can fly a plane and be inside, we can do the same with a helicopter, and I have heard reports of people making themselves weight less by manipulating their Chi the right way, but without technology we can not fly.
That idea is Simply False. Don't believe it; jump off a cliff and tell us how it turns out. :)
(for your safety, please jump off a *small* cliff, not a big one)

Your awesome Ragnorok. Your really intelligent and try to bring sense to people in your post. And if people are reading this, please listen. Yes, religion is something to believe, but it is also about belonging there, to feel comfortable, to be at home. Most people take religion so seriously, just like some Christians, they keep trying to convert people into their religion, saying they are the true religion. I can see Christians are worried and scared for those people who are non-christian and want to help them being saved from "Hell". But they have to understand we do not know which Religion is True. Maybe none religion is true. Maybe the atheist are right. Maybe there is a religion people do not know about and is true. But most people in the world are blind, they can't see religion is about belonging there. Everyone in the world is blind, even me. These are one of the things the reason the world is imperfect.

I hope people understood me.

But some Christians just have to understand its the Path people choose and you can't just take it away.

Thank you, Wolf.

Another thing to consider about Christians "converting" people is that some Christians, usually the non-forceful ones, try to share their religion because they are the generous type. Although many anti-Christians either don't want to think about it this way or simply don't consider this possibility, many Christians try to share their religion because it makes them feel good and they want you to feel good too. They aren't trying to give you a hard time, they're not trying to force you to believe what they believe, they just want to give you the chance to learn about something that makes many people feel good.

Wolf, I wouldn't say that everyone is blind. Everyone simply sees things differently. Religion *should* be about feeling like you belong, but not all religions are.

The kind of blind I meant was for example: when someone makes fun of a friend as a joke out of a friend, they might be hurt inside. Obviously the friend would tell that to the friend, but it would just go on and on without realizing it.
