Profile picture problems?
By:

Hello everyone, I've been on this site for about a month or two now, and have been trying to change my profile picture for a few weeks now.

I have given it up to one day to change each time, and have tried with multiple different pictures on multiple different devices. All it does is warp the origional picture I first placed on my page.

I would really love some help! Thank you!

Hi there,

In my experience, when you change the photo, the first page it shows you is the previous one but with warped dimensions, as you've said. However, I have found that if you refresh the page (sometimes more than once), it will load your new photo with it's proper dimensions. Right now, I am seeing your profile photo as an anime girl with hair blowing in the wind, is this the photo you recently uploaded?

If your old picture becomes distorted, then the upload of the new image was successful.

Try refreshing the page, if you haven't already done so.

However, if you're using Google Chrome, a refresh won't work. You'll have to go to the Settings for Chrome and clear "Cached images and files." Refresh the SoM tab if you had it open while clearing the data or just close and reopen your web browser.

You should be able to see your new profile picture after that.

There's a possibility that the server's cache has not yet updated. The last time I changed my profile image, the old one still appeared next to forum posts for a while, and the new one could be seen by visiting my profile page. Eventually, the situation righted itself.
