Question about Tarot
By:
How are you able to remember what all the cards mean? I'm interested in Tarot cards and I am slowly learning the art of reading them. I know they all have their significant definitions in a reading, but I can't seem to remember them unless I have a list of their definitions. Any suggestions?

The suggestions are to work on your memory. It's the only way, through practise you'll remember them and their meaning will come subconsiously/automatically. Sit down and learn them.

Test yourself. Try to learn three cards at first with no lookin at them. Then say their meanings out loud, again and again. Then move to the next ones. Do this every day. Then practise tarot readings. Take driving as anexample. It is difficult at first to learn all these road signs and car gears, but as you practise all these will work automatically...

Good luck on your journey.

I agree with Ioakeim. I'll just add that, you should take it easy. Don't get frustrated if you don't know the meaning of the cards right away. Just do what Ioakeim said, it's a good advice.

Also, as you practice, you'll evetually notice that something in your mind tells you what to say to the person. That's your intuition growing and " taking over ". Listen to it, go with your heart and you'll do fine.

Goodluck.

spend time with one card at a time, look at the details in the card, many good tarot decks will show you the 'feel' of the card through images. you might also wish to meditate with the card to get a further 'feel' for it. you can look up the meanings typically associated with each card as well. practice can also help, even if you're looking up each cards meaning, you'll start to learn more by doing, as well as see themes and patters in the readings. recording the cards and readings can also help you by keeping your thoughts in order but also reviewing your old readings. i've read tarot as a hobby for many years and i don't know every single card by heart, it takes time and practice. don't rush it.
