I would imagine by definition of wicca, you wouldn't associate yourself with biblical magic. Don't those two kind of disregard each other?
I'm not too sure though. I mean if you're eclectic, then you can sort of pick and choose what you practice and believe in, but if you're part of the wiccan religion, than I would imagine the answer would be no.

In regards to the rituals that Goetic magic uses, probably not. At least, not the way they are published. Since they center around the Christ figure and the Abrahamic god the rituals probably would not work for you, quite possibly leaving you in a bad position if anything did show up. Now, you could probably take the rituals and modify them to your belief system. I would first spend a great deal of time actually learning what the ritual is intended to do and why, and then modify it.

The other consideration is that there are basically two types of entities in Goetic magic: ones that were worshiped by other cultures and "demonized" by Christian magicians, and ones that originate from Christianity itself. You would want to do some research. Those that originate from Christianity itself probably wouldn't be good to work with. They probably would not respond well to your modified rituals. Those that were from other origins would respond best to rituals invoking forces from their origin. You would, of course, have to judge whether that is right for you or not.

Obviously, this all assumes that you are familiar with the basic workings of magic and ritual practice. Working with Goetic entities (contrary to all of the post sure to follow telling you otherwise) is not for beginners. Don't jump in to too much too quick. The psyche you save may be your own.

As always, just my advice.

That picture shows Gerald Gardner inside a circle inscribed with Hebrew names with a sword going into the triangle of Solomon. Also since his prior training in other magical orders would have involved reading the Goetia he would have been familiar with it. In my opinion, if it's good enough for him, its good enough for any Wiccan.

Your point, Hadit31, is a good one. Especially the point that Gardner had training with other groups, including Crowley. Say what you want about Crowley but no one can argue he was a very capable ceremonial magician. It is safe to assume that part of that knowledge and teaching rubbed off on Gardner. The key thing here is Gardner had training. He didn't just pop into his local occult book store, buy the Goetia and go to work. He would have also been initiated into that system of symbolism. That makes a huge difference. Another point is what rituals and practices was he doing? If he was using the Hebrew characters and magical system, it makes sense to assume that worked for him. It might not for someone else, especially if they don't believe or haven't been trained in it.

Oh I agree completely, and most people know I say if you have to ask about evocation you aren't ready to do it. But I was just stating Wicca and the Goetia are not incompatible.

Personally, I would agree that if you have to ask about it you are not ready. But, I was trained in the G.D., so I have strong opinions about training and doing things before you are ready. I wouldn't say they are incompatible, but if are against Christianity as many are you may not want to try using their magical practices.
