Delightful Nutcase

I want to explain about me referring to a member as "a delightful nut case". In England, this is a term of endearment! English people love the "eccentrics", the slightly "loopy" characters. Watch any TV show or movie with John Cleese.Even in the USA there are many examples of "delightful nut cases". Laurel & Hardy,Abbot & Costello,W.C.Fields, the Marx Brothers; and many others.
The "delightful nut cases" are, indeed, delightful! Referring to a person as "a delightful nut case", far from being rude,is a compliment!

Are people really upset by that? Granted I've never been called one, but I found it funny, not mean. You could of said 'what an idiot' which would of been. It's like when my friends insulted each other with Elizabethan insults back in high school, we were joking around, not serious. You might consider pointing out your jokes in the future since people can't hear the tone in your voice so choose to go with 'grumpy old man' infliction.

I thought it was delightful when you called the member by that :D It was in a joking, fun manner anyways.

If it hurt someone else, wouldn't it make more sense to apologize to them and explain this to them in private rather than post in the public forums?

On the public forum I was accused of being rude. My post is to explain, not to apologise; I am not apologising. I meant what I said in the original post.
