which is correct?
By:
Recently,I have been doing some more research on Wicca and the Wiccan Rede. In one version. it says "When the wind blows from the West, departed souls will have no rest" and I also checked in the Long Rede, it says "When the wind blows from the West, all souls will have peace and rest".
My question is, why the different interpretation? and which one is correct?

Since the Wiccan Rede was first introduced by Lady Gwen Thompson in the 1975 issue of the magazine " Green Egg " there have been any number of versions of the Rede that have been published.. The first version of the stanza that you mentioned is the original from Lady Thompson and personally I would go with that one. While some changes in wording seem OK, having the meaning completely changed makes me uncomfortable. There was meaning and purspose behind why the Rede was written in its original form.

You might find the information at The Wiccan Rede Project at http://web.archive.org/web/20031218001055/www.draknetfree.com/sheathomas/index.html to be of interest to you.
