Copied Works..

If you see a post by someone that you know is copied and pasted without a link to the source, please do your best to notify the moderators or respond to the post with the link to the original creator. Plagiarism is against the Terms of Service on this site and can lead to you getting gagged/banned.

No one is going to resent you for not knowing the information from the top of your head. Look at me, I work with herbs and I still need sources like themagickalcat.com to help me refresh on the herbal magickal properties.

So please, just when you are done with your post, put Source: then the link where you got your information. The work you are plagiarising most likely takes hard work to acquire and you are making the authors seem like their hard work was for nothing. All it takes is not even 10 seconds to copy and paste the link when you are done with your post.

And even if you do not post the right link, all we need to do is copy and paste a portion of the work into a search bar and then we get the site where you have gotten the work. You still lose.

As I have said before, please do your best to find plagiarised works and provide us with the link or author of the work. To all those wanting to post, keep in mind what I have said about putting the source.

Thanks for listening.

I agree some may attempt to pass others work of as their own and is morally unfair.

Not only is it morally wrong; it is a criminal offence!

thanks for this post, drives me nuts personally. if you copy and pasted the page, is it so difficult to add the website? just 'ctrl c' 'ctrl v' it onto the post like you did with the rest of the information. personally, i have the fear of god put into me about plagiarism, started back in school, i'm always worried someone will say i'm plagiarizing someone or something, even if i'm not.

There's an incident of this in the Misc Topics, forum post "Animal behavior" or somehting of that sort. The article is a copy/paste from somewhere, but the posted did not post a link for the journal the article was taken from. A few people have asked about it, but the posted had "abandonded thread' after that.

Copyright is not copying something and then giving the source. It is an offence to copy anything at all without permission of the author!
And everything is copyrighted the minute it is created.
For instance, what I am writing now is copyright, but as it is a public forum site, I automatically give permission for it to be copied.
