strange decks

my friends and i were out at a book store yesterday just to look around, and we came across the new age sections where there was two selves full of tarot decks. there was faeries and traditional [no celtic for some reason, but i think that's what they meant by 'traditional'] BUT they also had pirate tarot, zombie tarot, werewolf tarot vampire tarot [i've seen before many times] monster tarot and so on.

just wondering if anyone else has seen this strange trend of anything mythical becoming tarot decks.

I've come across them but I've never tried using any. I'd fear not being able to take my own tarot seriously, which wouldn't be particularly a good thing when reading the cards.

When I saw the word strange I was thinking about certain decks that have an uncanny unusual taste to them. Like my circular deck, or tarot that doesn't have the regular major arcana, etc...

Maybe you should try cleansing it. If the leftover energy is still strong that might be what's keeping it from connecting to you.
That coupled with the fact that you're not a big tarot user, which is understandable.

i was in a chapters [not sure if it's a Canada only store] but i've seen a couple of them in my occult shop too. you can always order them in, i just find they're getting ridiculous with these things.

They're pretty popular so you should be able to find them at in any larger bookstore and occult shop at least.

I believe we have Chapter's here in America...

I agree with you Nekoshema that's why I get so frustrated when I look for tarot cards. Now what I usually do is look at the cards in aeclectic tarot and find ones that appeal to. I'm just glad I finally found a deck that satisfy my needs and feel connected too.

I haven't tried any of those either but some people are really into things like vampires, fairies and zombies, so it might work well for them. They say cards that are a gift work much better and I know that's true for me.
