New Knowledge Ranking
By: / Novice
This entire thing is incredibly discriminatory. Here is a brief summary of the levels and how it doesn't work.

Fluffy- Why? Basically if who ever does this 'picking' had screwed up and hit Fluffy on what was probably a drop down box, no one would listen to me.(using my self as an example. This goes for everyone)

None- Meh.

Beginner- This is apparently what I am. " typical member who wants to learn, but really knows nothing about spells, wicca, paganism, etc, etc. This would be someone who comes to the site looking for a love spell, or a quick fix to something in their lives. They don't really want to learn, they just want a quick fix." Uh-huh....

Novice- How can this not be an insult? You have ranked the people who could have years of experience as a 'novice', while Petrarca 'adept'. Apparently who ever does the picking has seen something other than snide remarks from the admin.

Intermediate- This person generally knows a lot. Yes, but who are you picking from? This site has succumbed to fluff.

Adept- Go figure that most to all of the moderators are adept, including our admin. When is the last time they have helped one of you?

I claim this new system is entirely arbitrary. This post will be deleted as soon as a moderator finds my Adept post, or as soon as Pet realizes I've called him out.

To add to this: It's completely arbitrary. Either I can't read, or we were not told on what this system was based.

As explained elsewhere, rank improves somewhat slowly based up observed activity. Nobody did screw up and hit fluffy, so quit whining about imaginary scenarios - it does not lend to you credibility or... well, anything. There is no reason to revitalize this nonsense thread.

Yes, a lot of the system is biased.

On the other hand, if you are unhappy with your rank, instead of moaning and complaining about it do something to change it! -Participate in the forums, intellectual topics in the chat. Do whatever you can to show people you are not a beginner, and your rating can change.

Also, a lot of the mods are mods for a reason- because they are adept. So I would say the rank of adept suits them. However, not all of the mods are adept. I know about three who aren't.

People rated knowledgeable and above rate people. If they decide you are a fluff, then you most likely are. Fluffies are people who claim to be something they are not, roleplayers, trolls, ect. Example: ''I'm a vampire!.''

If you don't like your rank, do something to change it.

Novice- I don't see it as a insult. I have years of experience, and I am still a novice. Personally, it doesn't bother me. I know a lot of knowledgeable people on this site who are rated as a novice, and it doesn't bother them either.

I don't pay attention to the ranks, I judge people for what I know on them- If I see through their forum posts, conversations on chat, and so on that they are adept/fluff/intermediate etc; I will base them on that from what I know, and what I have seen them do. I suggest you do the same.

Who comes to back up the decision to make knowledge 'classes', who, of course, but a member of the staff. Someone who is very highly ranking on the chart.

Imaginary scenarios? This is very serious. I would imagine that no more thought went into choosing my rank than, say, choosing which pen to write with.

This is incredibly discriminatory, and if this, was in fact, unbiased, more than half the site would be labeled 'fluffy'.

I am not moaning or complaining. I am tired of this being used as an argument against people that have beliefs differently than yours.

I am not here much anymore. This is the first time in weeks I've been back, apparently, I've been informed this is not brand new. So I cannot participate in lively forum banter. and there are no intelligent conversations in the chatter.

If you dont like it, think half of us are fluff, dont find it interesting, dont learn anything, etc.. then leave. Your choice, hon.

Believe me, I'm thinking about doing so. ;) I just thought I'd add my two cents on the issue, especially since this section was designed for me to do so.

But I am glad you judge people based on what you see, not on the rank which is so uncreatively and arbitrarily given to them.

No, it is an imaginary scenario. There will be no "mistake" that makes you attain the fluffy rank. Any such slip up can be immediately rectified. And no, it's not a drop down menu.

I couldn't really be moved either way about the whole ranking system. I just see no reason to whine about it again in a whole new thread when your whining will improve nothing.

But oh god, I'm a member of the system. I must be telling you lies. 'cause as everyone would tell you I actually give a crap about all of that. Really.

Say something worth saying and people will care. Otherwise... shut up.

Did you seriously tell me to shut up? In the section of which I am supposed to be making these threads?

Awake, I am not the one that needs to shut up. You are. You spout crap in a condescending manner.

If you don't care either way, then why post in this thread? Just to be obnoxious?
