Seeking Answers

I have scoured and searched these forums for hours in search of answers to my questions, and in the midst have probably over looked them. When I was younger I stumbled upon what I had only thought of at the time as telekinesis and since I was not a devoted christian at the time I pursued it with a vigor. A few months later I stopped and then I became a christian. It keeps coming back though (specific feelings, different happenings, etc. if you would like to know more I can tell you what happened to me when i started out, its some pretty interesting stuff tho some might say its normal) and I am having trouble piecing the two together. The use of magick and Christianity, seeing as i was raised to not believe/think poorly of the first, seem almost impossible to piece together. I'm just confused about it all and i need answers because no matter how I try I can not just walk away from it. Stuff even happens when I'm not thinking about it. I keep coming back and it's not always a conscious decision to come back. So if anyone can point me in the direction of answers or help me out I'd really appreciate it. How Christianity and Magick can be together is the biggest one so far. I have searched, and will continue to search the forums for answers. Thank you so much

If you believe that God made man "in his own image", how could you possibly be doing anything wrong? :)

Christian practice involves "Prayer" (meditation); incense, chanting and candles, with structured worship (ritual); faith healing (aura or spirit magickal healing). These are found in other religions including neo-pagnanisms such as wicca. All in all, the practices are much the same. I think the teachings of both Jesus and Wicca have much in common, - as in "harm none", for one. As far as religious belief goes, wiccans see god as having a female and male aspect. Can this be equated with christianity? Some say the "holy ghost" is god in a female form, so this could fit well. The one I can't equate, is the belief that Jesus is the son of God. How much are we all children of deity? I look forward to your response, Erikai :)

funny thing in christianity is that even tho Jesus is the son of God he still is God. how that makes sense? well its more of a feeling. and alot you said makes sense. in the similarities of both. My question is is that can i take taht mind set, practice what ive started a long time ago, and still feel that this is a christian practice? maybe i'll have to do it to find out.

If you have trouble conceiving that Christianity and magick can run hand in hand, why don't you read up on renaissance witchcraft. The majority of it is full of nothing but Christian references. Also many Catholic Italians use whichcraft. I was just reading a book on malocchio (the evil eye) and every single chant had Christian tones. It wasn't wrong to practice magick in the Bible. No where does it say that. If that were the case, your mass would be wrong. Your prayers would be wrong. Your prophets and saints would be wrong! Moses and Jesus would be wrong! Witches were burned because they were not Christian and were wrongfully accused of worshipping Satan, a figure that pagans don't even believe in. Christians throughout history killed pagans to remove any threat to their religion's flourish. But I must just add this--killing is one of their own mortal sins. So they were and still are very hypocritical.

If you are Christian, then that's your right. But if you feel wrong about magick than what inspiration made you come here? Almost every biblical figure performed magick. What is healing if not magick? Marriage is a ritual!

You're a perfect Christian right? Never judged, never committed sloth, never wanted something someone else had, never lusted after the opposite sex, never disrespected your parents...I could go on. Let's be real, you have. The Christian ideal is far from possible and anyone who says they are a perfect Christian is a liar. Christian authority scares you into believing such things as magick (things not included in any biblical scripture) are wrong because the path of magick is a very self empowering one. And a self empowered person, is one with their own mind--a mind that may one day choose against the Christian faith. They don't care about your soul! Not that I'm saying you will choose against Christianity. I'm just saying that Christians who use magick are ones who have confidance in themselves just as much as their relgion, and they don't need any authority to tell them what is wrong or right. They read their Bible and listen to their own heart as to its true meaning.

Of course Christians can use magic! Catholic priests use it every morning at Mass.

But just because both use magic; never make the mistake of thinking that Wicca and Christianity are the same. They are not!
