How do you people organize your Book of shadows? How do you decorate it? What's it like? What do you write in it?

Well let's see. A BoS can be decorated however you wish, you write spells in it. As for organization, leave about 6-12 pages in the front blank, and number each page. When you add a new spell, write the name, date and pg number on one of those pages. Also, you should bless it with a BoS Blessing, and write with a blessed pen.

Ok I just keep a diary, where I scribble stuff, which includes rituals that I have performed and rituals that I want to perform. It's not really decorated, and its not even organised. I dont even have a fancy name for it. It's just to keep a record of things. Something I may want to look at, sometime in the future.

But I guess that depends on how you feel. Just remember that you should feel connected with whatever you plan to decorate your book of records/shadows/light or whatever you want to call it.

If you dont connect to all the fancy stuff you do it, chance are you'll never get down to using it. Which kinda defeats the purpose of having it in the first place, doesn't it? If you don't understand symbols or feel disconnected from them, then please avoid going down that road, just because someone suggests it. What may work for me doesn't necessarily need to work for someone else.

Lol... I remember picking up a fancy book with handmade, scented paper. Thought it would be cool... I began writing in it and then for some odd reason, I just stopped. And finally found solace in something unassuming and less flashy. Something that wouldn't have a problem with me making doodles and scratching stuff out. At the end of the day, it's my book. I have to write in it and someday go back to reading it. I couldnt give a damn about what someone else would think ;)

Thanks :)
I wanted to organize it like, experiences with spells tried -separate,spells to try-separate,instructions for spells and rituals-separate,stuff i know-separate,wish to learn-separate . but the prob is idk how much space i need for it so i just decided to write it as it goes than do a summary and put the best into a pretty one that could use to my sister ,friends that wish to learn or my kid one day :')

Can you tell me about that blessed pen and blessing the book?

There is a wiccan way...

Although, all I did was light a candle and put on the altar and asked the universe to bless it.

I keep losing things like pens. Even if I keep it on the altar, chances are that I'll end up picking it up to scribble a telephone number when I cant find a pen and then leave it in some obscure place where I cant find it. So, i use any pen, generally avoiding the colour black. But that's me...

I'm sure someone else here will be able to give you a formal blessing ritual, if you're looking for one.

I think I'll just go with the candle and universe. I'm not really the formal-ritual type :)
Thanks :)
And I have the same problem with pens...Well with everything that's not huge. I just...lose it. Rather using any pen, blessing than loosing is not really...encouraged I'd say.
