Monism And Dualism
By: / Beginner
I've been doing some thinking, and I wanted to ask some opinions:

Can monism and dualism co-exist, or can one believe in both of these at the same time?

In this sense, one would break down a more monist view of the universe into two separate dualistic aspects. Does this go again their very definitions, or am I safe to use that as a description of belief?

I only want to establish some idea of the terms I might use, since I don't want to get confused in what I'm trying to say :)

Thanks to any and all replies made :)

The way I understand the terms you cannot be both. You are either one or the other.

Im not an expert on either, but have been entertaining the idea of a female/male God/dess joined to be an entity of equal power, the female seemingly more powerful the giver, maker of life, but the male also powerful as instigator and protector of life, one cannot create without the other.. It seems logical enough to consider due to the fact that the majority of beings on earth have or require both a male and female to continue life of their species. Raised in a Christain environment it always seemed strange to me that "Gods" idea of a female was made second to man, especially when it is females who bear life, a trait that would be considered closest to God if u ask me....Just an idea of mine, I can see the two together as one but thats just me... I dont have the answer as noone does...
