Galdr Magick

Post # 1
I was reading through the book "Teutonic Magic" by Kveldulf Gundarsson. It's about Germanic lore, divination, and magic. Predominantly focuses on the meanings and uses of each of the Nordic runes.

When I got to the rune Ansuz, it mentioned the term Galdr Magic. Looking up this word, I've come to the conclusion that it refers to any verbal piece of magic. However, I wanted to double check with anyone who might be more familiar with Runic Magick, and Germanic speech.

Thank you in advance for your replies.

I do believe that you are correct. I checked a few sources to be safe but every one I find mentions that 'Galdr' is an old Norse word for incantation.

i actually stumbled across a small site that gave a good brief description of that Galdr is;
