can a wand be bad?

Hello, I'm completely new to witchcraft and truthfully not sure about a lot of things. To be clear I have no intention on practicing with a wand but I do need to make some. Infact I've made my first one today as according to the deal. When I sell this I'd like to be relatively sure its not harmful. Sorry if this is a dumb question and one I should have asked much earlier but this is where I find myself. Thank you.

The wand will not be "bad".

Wands are merely tools to direct the energy of the magic user. Whether they cause harm or not depends on how the person who has the wand chooses to use them. Is a hammer bad? No, it's not. But you could seriously injure someone if you hit them on the head with a hammer. It is the intent of the user that determines whether a tool does harm or not.

Hey thx a lot Lark, that makes a lot of sense.
Even if a object was cursed or something, if it was in the hands of a good person it would do good. I suppose there's no way to know ones intent, same as when selling someone a hammer.thxs.

Not unless the wand was specifically made for the purpose of black magic. Myself I dont use wands because I never had to.

No wand can be made for the purpose of black magick, black magick is human perception, in reality it is the intent behind the magick that causes the effect that make it for good or bad, the magick itself is neither.

A wand is simply a tool for channeling energy, an extention of yourself when casting circles and in magickal practices, a past user of the wand may still have some energy in it, to remove this you simply need to cleanse it; then the wand is simply a piece of wood (metal or crystal).

The first one was presented to me at the feet of a male cardinal, it was a beyound coincidental experience never seen a bird behave fearless of a human, I wish I knew how to post images.

If a wand is dedicated to satan during its crafting and after its finished then it can be considered to be specifically for black magic

Leon, I think you need to learn more about magic. Listen to the advice of those who have been on this path for some time. As has been said, a wand is a tool. It is neither good or bad. The belief in black or white magic is a moral judgment. There is no good or bad to magic, it simply is just magic.

As an aside, not everyone views Satan as you do. We have some here who would disagree that Satan is evil or that working with in Satanism is bad at all.

A bayonet is a knife but its not meant to peel fruit.
So what advice do you want to recommend to me as to the study of magic? Where should I start?

I would recommend starting with a couple of books that should help you with understanding and then learning how to do magic.

"Spells and How They Work" by Janet and Stewart Farrar

"Modern Magick" by Donald Michael Kraig

"The Veil's Edge" by Willow Polson

"Real Magic" by Isaac Bonewits
