meditation.

I been studying tarot and Wicca a long side with meditation exercise's and I must say I find the meditation the hardest part, I am not sure if I am doing it properly, trying to visualize certain aspects of the meditation seems to drift and my mind visualizes random images and keeping the focus is hard work.
I'm hoping eventually it will all come together more easily.
The course stresses the importance of the meditations whilst working on the subjects and I don't want to miss valuable connections to the learning.
Any tips for focus would be great, I feel it is an important part of my learning, also it can feel quite odd at times, I started twitching in the fountain of light meditation lol .
I guess the art of mastering meditation can take a very long time and trying to practise on a daily basis has proved more of a commitment to me, also, I do feel it is very personal too and could be a reason as I find it hard to release certain emotions.

For what its worth, dont stress over it for sure.

What works for me is to relax each part of the body starting with the feet and working your way up. Have you ever relaxed your face? youd be surprised how much tension you keep in your face.

If you mind start drifting to stuff, focus on the darkness behind your eyes and let the "thing" go.

Once you hit that relaxation point then you can start to visualize...like ill imagine a place i go to and then relax even more within that place.

Making a relaxing place, for me, is really important because then for subsequent meditations i go to that place first and do the relaxation bit "there."

Dunno if im being too "basic" here but letting go an clearing and deeply relaxing first is really useful.

Good luck...

Over the years, ive got to the point where the place is so full of detail that i can pretty much recall it even if im at work or dealing with stuff. i'll close my eyes ...go there...spend a moment...and then i can deal with stuff.

Glad it was helpful!

STOP WHAT YOUR DOING! Relax! Breath deep! In and out! In through the nose! Out through the mouth! Deep breaths! Empty your mind! Let your thoughts drift! Your body relax! This is basic meditation. Visualization is an advanced concept. It's used when you want to focus your mind for higher branches of magick that require such! But meditation at its base is designed for one thing. To relax the mind and the body! To let yourself drift and bath in the natural energies of the world around you!

There are many different schools of thought on meditation. I always recommend starting active meditation as soon as possible. It will teach you relaxation and focus while preparing you for magical work. Check out Silva Method. There is a link for it on my profile. It's a good place to start.

You might like the one on my profile. It is to relax the body, and teach you focus, which in this one,is always relaxing to the mind. Pretty sure you'll like it, since you mention drifting thoughts. Blessed Be...
