High John Root is not edible since it is an extremely strong laxative. Do not ingest this plant!

There is a similar plant called Little John Chew or Galangal that is edible and is often used in culinary dishes.

Mugwort is an edible herb and has been used in natural medicine for centuries. The leaves and the flowers can be consumed. They have antibacterial, anthelmintic (treats intestinal worms), anti-inflammatory, antiseptic, antispasmodic, carminative(treats gas), cholagogue, diaphoretic, digestive, diuretic, emmenagogue, expectorant, haemostatic, nervine, purgative, stimulant, stomachic, and tonic, cleansing toxins from the blood. Like anything that is consumed, too much can lead to issues. It is best to know what you are doing before you treat yourself or anyone else with this or any herb. Please also consult your health care professional prior to starting any herbal or natural treatment.
