I don't believe you just find your spirt animal, most of the time they will comes to you weather in a dream or in the physical world and you just feel a connection with that animal. Maybe you have more than one, my advice would just to gave it time.

For many people it's the animal you feel the most connected to or you like the most.

If I go by what is said in post #4 then it would be a cat for me. My brother calls me the cat whisperer (too many incidents to type to support this) and my daughter and her friends call me the crazy cat lady, despite only having one cat!! But I seem to have a calming effect on most animals but cats in particular.

I've dreamed of a lot of different spirit animals and met many in the astral realm over the years. They have taught me lessons then moved on, disappearing from my life as easily as they came into it. For me though my true guide and companion became a horse but it took ten years for me to find my girl. Ten years of meditations and practice of witchcraft and wicca to actually find THE ONE.
I've always loved horses, although I've never owned one myself. I've only ridden one twice. My day can be instantly brightened by seeing one in a field. There is something about them that draws me and I can't really explain what that something is. Once you find your spirit animal you will know, until then accept those that come to you and learn the lessons they have to teach.
