Will writing my own spells give them more power because I put my energy into them? And is there a specific way to write spells?

Well, start by spelling correctly. lol And yes! writing your own spells does exactly that; putting your own energy into it makes it yours which makes it stronger. From how you asked, I believe you know this already. As far as writing them, look at some of the good spells on here, and include reading "How to make you own spells", I believe is what its called in the articles or forums. Try "Creating spells" in the search bar. You know you need intent (reason to do it), and some correspondence info might help you, such as moon phases, and whatever you are using in the spell; herbs, crystals, etc.. Excellent question and I hope I am seeing a want-to-learn person. Keep this up and you will do great! Blessed Be...

Theres many ways to write spells, its kind of a 'whatever-works-for-you" kind of thing.

The way I do it is usually similiar to this:

I often start with a scrap piece of paper before I write the actual spell to write the information and plans of the spell down to make sure they fit up.

I start by figuring out the intent of the spell, What I want the spell to do for me and write it down.

Next, I look into the correspondences for when doing the spell. Lets say I'm writing a banishing spell to repel negativity:
The best day for banishing is Saturday, Moon phase is Waning.

Next I'd look into the supplies, like candles, Incense/herbs, crystals, etc. So for banishing I'd use a black candle, Dragon's blood incense, and Black Obsidian.

Now I'd write the steps of the spell, the imagery and the casting instructions. Then write the words of the spell, using rhymes if I like.

Now I take all the information I wrote down and make sure everything matches up and fits together. Using correspondences makes the spell more powerful, then everything is in strong harmony with the intent. Then I form it into a spell sheet, looking similar to this:

Name Of Spell:
Type Of Spell:
Purpose/Intent of Spell:
Time To Cast:

Supplies:

Casting Instructions:

Chant(s):

Using example:

Name Of Spell: Banish Negativity
Type Of Spell: Banishing
Purpose/Intent of Spell: To Banish Negativity and bad energies from body, mind and soul
Time To Cast: Saturday, On a Waning Moon

Supplies:
-Black Candle
-Dragon's Blood Incense
-Black Obsidian

Casting Instructions:
...

Chant(s):
...

This is one way I use, I hope it works well for you. Theres many ways, so experiment with it.

The more meditating with a singular focus on your objective, the more powerful it will be. If you wish to make a very powerful spell to accomplish something, meditate on the making of the spell. It should come to you not be thought of and created by your mind but rather your spiritual self. I don't know if I conveyed that properly, but I hope you know what I mean. Someone more elegant can probably rephrase that for me!

Thank you both for your input. I am a little disorganized so the layout helps, and I'm more of a freestyle chanter? Can say what I feel more easily than sitting and writing it down because it comes out more honestly.. So thank you both! Blessed be!
