Searching for A Spell

Hello everyone, I've been looking through the spells on this site, I was wondering if anyone knew of a reliable protection/defense spell to block others from placing negative spells on you or a loved one. I'm new here, and don't have candles yet, so that is a restriction, but any and all suggestions are very appreciated!

The best one i have learned is to get a small piece of paper and draw the symbol for protection in the center. Next you write the persons name you want to protect on it and their horoscope sign (this gives the protection spell a much accurate discription of the person you want to protect). Next chant the following: angel above hear my plea
Take this evil far away from__(persons name)__
Hear me well and give protection
Let there be no infection
So it be.
After saying this tie the piece of paper with pink string (overcomes evil) and set it in a window sill or where the moon light can touch it.

What is the symbol for protection? And does the writing implement or type of paper matter?

For yourself, you can make a protection pouch. Various herbs and tiny stones placed in a small pouch you can carry around with you at all times. I keep my pouch in my wallet.

Also you can make a witch's bottle for when you are at home.
