Protection from storms?

I lived in a major city my whole life and never had to worry about such things as tornadoes. But for the past 3 years I have lived in a suburban area and there have been tornado warnings and green circling clouds above my house. I believe in letting nature do its thing as long as it doesn't do me harm. And I know that influencing weather isn't the best idea in the world. But I would like to find a tried and true protection against the weather placing my family in danger. A tornado can come if that's what nature wants but I want to insure my family's safety. I don't have a basement, so we go to the first floor of our house which has brick walls but I would like to add a little magickal insurance.

I usually write my own spells but I have no room for error here.

i must admit, i love the stormy stuff! the best you really can do is to just imagine the funnel coming at you, then whirling back to the sky, i tried it and im not sure if it did work but i saw a funnel at school and i did the above. no sirens went off, it was a supercell, it did whirl, i was outside for gym running, the siren sounded a while before because of a ten mile away but it didnt sound a siren again, and noone i know was injured. i cant be sure, but its best not to go TOO extreme.
i really hope this helps

Air is not my element. But apparently it is yours! Very nice. But I'm afraid the tornado would laugh at me for trying. Lol! I'm terrified of tornadoes, I saw an F4 form a block away from me once and that was enough for me! It thankfully just landed and went back up. But not before tearing a few poor trees from their roots.

I was hoping if it was an air spell that it called to the aid of an elemental or deity. Something that could make up for what I know I lack. =)

I would assume an earth based protection may work, but like I said, I don't want to go through trial and error. Error could mean my roof flies off and my windows shatter which isn't much for safety lol

I also am aware of certain archetypes, but I was hoping someone out there may know of a spell steeped in roots of old. I'm comfortable using magick from any culture because every one of them has some truth, they are all linked together if you take the time to find the connections.

So what element do you work with?

Earth and fire mostly. If I work with air it's always coupled with another element or all four together. But my magick itself is "life" orientated. So I have an easy time influencing and reading living things. Shamanism is the closest term to describe it, but I don't consider myself that. Its complicated lol.

Weather is a force of nature that includes every element at one point but I feel that it is not my place to influence/control the weather. Attempting to stop a dangerous storm or tornado from ever striking my area could cause more destruction for another area. But protecting my home against harm from weather would not directly influence the course of the weather.

Its quite the pickle. I've heard of protections against lightening and even snakes! Some of them are quite humorous. But nothing in regards to tornadoes. Perhaps even the great magicians of the past couldn't wrap their staff around such a powerful force. =/

I know that the greeks believed that one of the titans was in the form of a tornado. And their gods locked them away, yet once in a while they would break free and romp around, before the gods fought them and locked them up yet again. The greeks didn't like tornadoes either! Maybe I should look up which god fought the titans, I've totally forgotten. It would be a nice beginning of the spell. It seems like I have no choice but to attempt a protection of my own and hope for the best.

Its 4am and I'm very tired. I hope all that I've writen makes sense in the morning. If anyone can recall any other tornado correspondences or oppositions, I would be very appreciative. A simplistic possibility would be to evoke the energy of whatever opposes tornadoes into an object to "repel" the tornado from touching my home. Sounds like something our ancestors would do.

The ceremony is usually conducted by the mambo of New Orleans, Sallie Glassman. The ceremony is held every year I think around July when hurricane season starts. They appeal to the Loa Erzulie Dantor and Catholic Lady of Prompt Succor to protect the city. It is really interesting. The ceremony was mentioned in a documentary of hurricane Katrina called Hexing a Hurricane I think. You can find that here:

Interesting, earth and fire
i personal just mainly work with water and fire. on occasion i will work with air but thats not often. mostly with air i just create small breezes.

so its more of a conscience issue than a can i actully do this?
my stand on that issue is just either let it be, move it,divert it,or just try to break the whole cell apart. ive only managed to break the whole storm cell apart once but that took 2 people, the rest of the time i just try to move it or divert it towards a relatively unoccupied area, like a mountain, or a forest of some kind.
as for regards the tornadoes, i know the theory on how one might form. Ive never used it in actually practice. the theory is not that hard to figure out. ive had some good luck at preventing some small scale natural disaster. i used a protection spell that involved all four elements. i went around the general area which i wanted protected.

as for the titan of air i think your thinking of Lelantos. i blame disney for displaying him as tornado.
also your post did make sense. i write most my reports at 3 am and say that same thing when im done.
