What are your thoughts on the antichrist? Some believe that he is an actual person while others believe that he is a metaphor for the evil that is within all of us. If you believe it is a real person, tell me when you think he is coming.

If you are going by the Bible,
then it is a real person on the material plane.

If you are not going by the Bible,
then it is probably metaphorical as you said.

If you simply do not believe,
then you'd probably think it's non-existent.

If you are going by the Bible
then what will happen is described in Revelations.

Actually he's a character in several movies, some good, some not so good.
According to Grampaw he arrived in the early '60's. Of course, my grandfather believed the world would come to an end in 1989. When it didn't, he revised his calculations and hit on the year 2000. Before he could recalculate and decide on a third date, he died, so I don't believe I'd rely on his opinion too heavily, lol.

Although i do not believe in the bible or the Antichrist i will answer this question as best i can.

In the bible Jesus says there will be many who try to deceive the world into thinking they are the Christ. This would be encompass many people over the years..one example would be Adolf Hitler.

However the word Antichrist simply means that it is someone who is against Jesus Christ. So in fact anyone who disagrees with Christianity would be a Antichrist.

I wouldn't put it so lightly as "disagreeing,"
but that is to a degree true.
I think it would be more along the lines
of the people who not only disagree,
but encourage others to disagree as well.

I believe that "Christ" is just another term like Buddha which means enlightened one. Therefore Antichrist would mean one who is opposed to the enlightened one. Or in a broader sense a person who is opposed to another person who is enlightened.

I believe there are many "Christs" and "Antichrists" living among us at this time. Look at the way of the world in fact when it is boiled down each or us is one or the other. I think the important thing to do is figure out that which you are.

Do you seek enlightenment or do you seek to be opposed to those who are enlightened? Do you merely disagree with others and let bygones be bygones or do you wish to destroy those who do not agree with you? Are you willing to live in peace or do you wish to fight? There are many crossroads one will come to before they know that which they are.

I think, by your post, kts,
most people would be in between.
It's not black and white,
it's not either you are enlightened or you're against the enlightened,
there is the gray.
The gray would be the people who are not enlightened,
but also not against the enlightened,
many of which may be trying to enlighten themselves as well.

From a Christian perspective I think this theory
(or point of view, I think I should say,)
would be incorrect as "Christ" would refer specifically to Jesus.

Everything is gray until you boil it down to either black or white. It is true almost all of us would be in the gray throughout most of our lives, however there comes a time in our lives that one shade becomes more vivid than the other.

As with "Christ" referring to Jesus Christ that is in the eye of the beholder. There is no historical reference anywhere but the bible and other religious documents to a Jesus Christ. The only none religious texts of a Christ are in roman government documents. None of these states a name though just simply the title Christ.

Thus the use of the words,
"from a Christian perspective,"
since Christians would likely follow the Bible on this topic.
I would like to look at those Roman documents though.
I haven't heard of such documents mentioning Christ until now.
Any links to where I could look them up,
or maybe a book that I could find at the local library?
