I've never wanted one, and i've never any need for one either, but now i'm curious, what is a pentacle disk for anyway? the only thing i can think of is place the bell on top of it. i could just look it up, but i'm guessing other people are curious too. thank you.

I have a pentacle disc that is a ceramic tile. I use it to stop my censor scorching my altar cloth. It has no other value than that.
But I do also have a silver pentacle that I wear on a chain around my neck.

yea, i wear a pentacle held by two dragons on a silver chain, i have since i was 13, but i've never know what the need of a pentacle disk was, whenever my coven needed a pentacle in a ceremony or spell, we used one we wear, since all but one of us has a necklace. thanks :)

I've heard it used as a symbol for earth, and a general symbolic piece used for blessing and charging objects.

When practicing a ritual for someone, I will sometimes draw a pentacle on the ground in chalk and place their name underneath it and a candle above it. I use this as a focus point for energy, like a visual center. I have no disk.

I don't think that it is a traditional part of an altar. Some may view it like witchcraft version of a medicine wheel or stone cairn. But in my opinion it's a neo pagan pretty plate. =)
