teleporting your physical presence to another part of the world, by magick is not do-able, you can however AP, astral Projection, there are many theories of what this is, some say projecting your soul, to an astral realm, others say, projecting part of your soul in an astral body into to the astral realm, others just say, creating an astral body to explore the astral realm.
The Astral realm is basically a realm that is overlapping ours, sharing the same space, but on 2 different dimensions, in the astral realm, when APing, you can see the astral realm and the physical realm, however when i do it, i can see both at the same time, dont know about any others, i see objects and i see the energy surrounding the objects, so its kind of merged into one plane of sight. being in the astral realm allows you to see everythings auras (radiating outer energy) more clearly as well.
When in AP, you can go anywhere you want, you become kind of lucid, your body is still alive but you know you're unconscious and why. when you do see your friend, i doubt they will be able to see you, or unless they have actually grasped their magickal talent know you're there. so i would get them to meet you on the astral plane.
When in astral projection, your Body is in total vulnerability, and if you lose concentration you will immediately snap back to your physical state, if you're inexperienced this could be a fly landing on you, or a gust of wind etc, most common disruptions are animals leaping on you, people calling out your name, or even natural bodily functions, like coughing, feeling hungry, hiccups or the need to pee :)
its important that you re-enter your physical state peacefully and calmly, if you are forced to snap back in to early, or go back to consciousness from a disruption, you will probably get a migraine :P
so there you have it, the closes thing there is to actually teleporting, you can either understand this, or,....you know...take a car?...train, or ooooh! oh oh! boat ^^
