Cleansing

Hey I have always had a hard time cleansing objects because of my OCD. I've been taught that you will know when you should stop cleansing an object, but I don't get that feeling at all when I'm doing so.

I need help because it will take me like 30 minutes just to cleanse a candle. I fear that its still full of negative energy and I need to cleanse it more.

I don't understand when I should stop cleansing an object because of this fear I have. How long does it take to cleanse an object? I know it matters what kind of object or what your using to cleanse it with, but if you can help me it would make my fears subside.

I'm not scared that if I don't cleanse this that something bad will happen to me. I am more scared that if I don't cleanse it the purpose I have for it wont work.

There isn't a set time for cleansing, however, cleansing should only take a few minutes. I like to use sage or sage ashes to cleanse things and I just go over every inch of it with the ashes or smoke. Be thourough but don't spend half an hour on it. Just make sure you cover it or go over it all. Does that make sense?

Just as there is good in bad, I believe their is bad in good. I've had an issue similar to yours before where I would over cleanse or bless something and while it still served it's purpose well, I got really odd senses that something wasn't right.

I used to have OCD too as a kid, so I hear where you're coming from and I can see your logic with this fear, but so long as you ensure you do a thorough cleansing, I don't think it necessarily needs to be a complete cleansing, just rid of the gunk build up you dig?
