Imbolc

Just thought i'd post and see who all was going to light candles tonight to celebrate the coming of longer days. I am going to light candles in my windows and honor the passing of the torch from Hecate to Brighid. That is just my personal thought of this wonderful day. Anyway I hope you all have a wonderful day.

In ancient times it was a bonfire, and a big one! To welcome the Sun.

And if there wasn't so much rain today in my state I would def be building one! They say if it rains on Imbolc that you will have a good year for planting crops.

We had a nice Imbolc up at my house, though since we live in apartments and it actually snowed on the day of Imbolc.. We had to settle for just candles. It was still fun though.

Well it seems like the weather was being very forceful where we both live. I had to use candles too but it still was a nice intimate time for reflection and I enjoyed it.

I lit a candle and did chants as they came to me throughout the day and evening. I live alone, so did nothing big. BB...

This is why I love this place. I never knew of this tradition.
