I swear!

Well it's been a while since I posted in these forums...well any for that matter but i figured what better one to start back up with then a one that should bring up a good point.

I have had the pleasure of walking down the path for many a moon and seeing people grow and prosper in it from lots of study and effort and have also had the pleasure of being one of the people to help others grow and prosper in magick as well. And as of late I've been noticing that a lot of young "witches" (and i use the term loosely) have been getting on here and expecting others of more experience to spoon feed them the ways of magick and the guidelines and other such things. I ask you people guilty of doing such things "why why do you think that we have nothing better to do than to sit here and take large chunks of our busy day and nurse you down this long path" I mean do you think Scott Cunningham or Raymond Buckland sat there and had someone hold their hands down their magickal careers...I think not. So what makes you think that we are going to sit there and make an exception for you. Besides you'll never truly experience magick that way you'll only know the results of some other persons work. So why don't you get the backbone to go discover your own path and make a laundry list of experiences that are truly genuine instead of missing out because I for one am tired of yos all bugging me expecting me to spoon feed you...

with age comes experience, with experience comes knowledge, and knowledge, if used properly, cna eventually bring wisdome
unfortuantly the majority of people on this is site have no age, and therefore no experience, no knowledge, and certainly no wisdom

of course we shouldn't be spoon feeding them everything, that would do more harm than good, but at the same time those of us who do posses wisdom and knowledge have a moral responsibility to help along those that are just starting out
not that I said "help", as in giving tips and bits of advice here and there

totally agree with you alex. however kids thinking they can become werewolves and mermaids and illusions about magick need to be stopped and explainations need to be given on what magick actually is and what is actually possible. shows like charmed and buffy the vampire slayer have given kids this dislusion that that sort of stuff is achieivable. im not slagging off these shows i actually really like them.

What you say is true blackrobes....I wonder how much of this is caused by the bombardment of us (old and young) with glamorized versions of magical things like Twilight and Charmed (even Buffy, I guess) stereotypes of witches, etc.

Scott Cunningham and Raymond Buckland didn't have this stuff to cloud their minds with nor all the crap on the Internet.

Naeder I totally agree with you, and person who commented above him whos name I've already forgotten, what are you talking about? chances are, and by chances are I really mean you definatly are human, not a demon
if you find that you can work fire magic with more ease than the other elements, than fire is probably your element, but take it far enouph as to say your a demon or fire sprite of some sort is a bit much, don't you think?

Im ten and i realize magic isnt hocus pocus and a rabitt comes out of a hat. Its a serious part of a lot of peoples lives and should be used properly. This site is for those who are serious of the art and not children seeking to be mermaids. Yes i am technically a child but i am more mature than some teens in my hometown. The children that live one house away saw this site, and then asked me to turn into an owl. Stupid nine year olds.the little anoyances beg me to make them mermaids and i tell them i cant. The little morons wont leave me alone.

I agree that explanations do need to be given for a lot of things. Magick is shown in various ways that are usually untrue in a lot of movies and television shows. As young children it starts out with our favorite Disney movies and shows like Wizards of Waverly Place and go through to our favorite things to watch as adults.

I have personally been asked questions like "so you turn people into toads?", "Why would you WANT to worship the anti-Christ/Satan?" and "Do Pagans/Wiccans really eat babies?". It's all around us and I believe that we should clarify these questions to all that ask and at least give them the correct information instead of letting them continue them the way that Hollywood decides to portray them.

Not to mention even I want to ask questions about things I find out there on the web to see if I can find someone online that could possibly know more than I do and lead me in a more correct direction. I think it's only fair that we all get to ask questions no matter where we are in our path since I'm sure we are not all all-knowing mortals that have all of life's answers.
