Rune spell

I know what runes are and there meaning but I don't know how to use them in a spell, do I just have them there during the spell? do I write them in an order with meaning? or do I just carry them around like crystals?

Usually you write them somewhere while meditating/focusing on their meaning. For example carving runes on a candle or in the dirt if you are outside is a way to use them in a spell. Also if you have carved some runes on your magickal tools you are already using them in your spell but remember, how you use them varries with the spell you cast.Nevertheless what you must have is focus on their meaning and the way each one feels to you(their energy).Otherwise it's just another kind of alphabet that has no effect in spellcasting. If you have a specific spell in mind I could give you some ideas on how to use them..

The 1st rune book I used was Runes by Lisa Peschel. .. It's got the meanings and has a lot of info on the runes themselves which is good to learn before you start practicing with them... Good luck and enjoy,I'm fond of my runes.....
