Magick is simply the Alteration of Probability through conscious (or unconscious) will.

Agree?
Disagree?
What do you all think?

I almost forgot to mention, Magick exists all around us, sometimes we just lack the eyes to see it.

Take that statement as you will.

When I was very young, I asked my witch teacher,"What, exactly,is magic?"
She said,
"Magic is the knowledge of the few, for the benefit of the many."
To her, television was magic.Organ transplants!
We are discussing this by you, in the USA, and me, in England, via the internet. Is THAT not magic?

It is science, but the science of today is the magick of yesterday.
Merely terms describing the same thing, terms for those of differing perceptions to describe what is all around us.

So yes I agree, it is magick, as well as science, although there is not much of a difference between the two aside from symantecs.

Also, it seems that magickal inquiry leads to the birth of scientific fact, and scientific fact leads to the birth of magickal inquiry.

Many groundbreaking ideas throughout history have come to people in the form of dreams and meditation.

Einstein's theory of relativity was the result of his so called "thought experiments".

I just wanted to add that to clarify my last post since I'm tired and I wanted to better articulate my point.

Of course there is a massive difference!

Science is founded upon measuring objective changes in a controlled environement, relying on previous knowledge with also the want to falsify that previous knowledge if need be.

Magick in the definition you gave, seems to rely on the belief that you can affect the of probablity, yet this cannot be objectively measured.

As human beings we like to place explanations upon everything and believe that everything happens for a reason and in a logical way. Things can be coincidence.

Whilst magick is not a religion it is based upon the same principles of belief and often denial of factual data, science is based upon observation of factual data.

Science is expalining and rectifying the erroneous beliefs of the past, not merely rediscovering magick.

It seems as if a simplistic approach leaves the complications to science, but for someone like me with a sometimes complex approach to the craft, I am able to learn more about science. I think its all relative.

Actually I agree with you 100% but I was tired so my articulation was poor.

What I was trying to get across was that scientific inquiry originates from the realm of thought, and many very important revolutionary ideas have arisen from meditative trance and or dream states.

For example, many of Srinivasa Ramanujan's greatest mathematical discoveries came to him during lucid dream states.

i wouldn't say lack the eyes.......to see it, i would lean more to not having enough knowledge to know what to look for........

my own past experiences taught me at a young age to be the person the heavenly creator made be to be, but i dabbled into some satanist dark stuff..............took a long time to lose that.....but now having all that dark knowledge as an adult, wow im thankful i got out.........but we never do get out, i have been on this site for alot of years, but just as recent as 3 years ago, i knew it was time to get my degree in ministry......becuz when your using magic you need to be sure ur not harming anyone anything any places.....in Our physical world....
all this is learn how to use it right and justly
