I am new to Magick. Help?

Hello, I am Augustine and I am to the idea of Wicca and Magick. I am trying to learn more. I was wondering where to begin? I've tried Newbie Central but I do not quite understand. Are there steps to this sort of thing? Could one of you please tell me the basics?

The best things you could start with is studying up on magic for a minimum of a month, but highly recommend mor and meditation (meditation helps your focus visualisation and being clear of mind which are all prety useful things)

Magic is so vast it can not be explained in one topic and means different things to different people. To me magic is using your mind, body and soul to manipulate the energies around us to a purpose or end goal. Drawing up energy from the Blessed Earth and then grounding the negative and excess back should be your first priority to learn before ever casting. Just my opinion though.

Also Wicca is a religion I do not deal with. I am an ecclectic male witch with no belief in dieties but do get help from powerful spirits on occasion in my witchcraft. :-)

Well, (Neo)Wicca is a religion that incorporates magic into it. There are plenty of books out there. I see Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner and Drawing Down the Moon recommended a lot. Wicca involves using the four elements (fire, earth, air and water) so I guess I would start by reading about the elements.

Honestly, I took a look at Wicca once but never got far before decided it wasn't for me. If you want to learn about kitchen witchcraft though, I can help with that. I also work with water a lot. Feel free to send me a message if you want.
