My Reoccurring Dream

So I have been having this dream on and off for the past seven months: in my dream, someone or something is chasing me up my basement stairs and I slammed the door behind me. The door starts to bow in towards me as if somehow the wood is flexible and I hear this terrible high-pitched scream. I start freaking out and I feel this panic that is uncontrollable. And then the next thing I know, I put my hand on the door and start chanting in a different language (also throughout the dream I speak this language; another odd thing is that in every dream I speak a different language. Another odd fact is that there are certain phrases that I remember and I will type them into a translator and they end up being legitimate translations from languages I've never heard of before). And the next thing I know, the high-pitched sound stops. And I run into my living room and I hear the door slam open and the next thing I know I'm on the ground and I start chanting again. Then I wake up. Sorry that this took forever to type; I'm just curious as to any interpretation of this. Thanks!

Whenever I look up any of the phrases, it always has something to do with protection. Like sometimes it'll be about asking for the spirits to protect me. But other times it'll be me asking for me to protect myself. It various. But to name a few languages that this has happened in: latin, spanish, french, italian, german, croatian, portuguese, and greek, etc. But the only language in the mix of them that I actually can understand a little bit is greek. So I'm confused as to how I can hear them in my dreams and they be accurate representations of a language I've never heard before?

My sister does more dream work than I do, but it sounds like they could be memories of past lives...at least in part (specifically the languages, there are documented cases of that happening). Do you know who or what is chasing you?

Do you by chance have noisy neighbors that could be fighting while you are sleeping? The reason I asked is, I once went almost six months dreaming in Italian. Funny thing I do not speak Italian. Turns out my Italian neighbors were loud when I was sleeping and instead of waking me up,the noises and language just infused into my dreams.

Thats quite an interesting tale. I'd have to agree on the past life idea. You must have had a lot of them as thats many languages. And it would appear that a spirit could be chasing you through all of the lives, including this one. Of course this is theory, nonetheless, if I were you I'd start practicing protection magick.

No, I never know what it is that's chasing me. All that I really can tell is that it's something dark. It could be a spirit, I guess. I never really thought of it that way. But every time I try to face it, I wake up.

Also the idea of the languages being of a past life is interesting. That could be a really interesting idea of how it is that I can remember certain parts of it.

And now that you mention it, I have always been a person that has been extremely sensitive to energy. So when I was younger it was no surprise to my family that I would say that I was talking to dead people. And a few years ago, after my brother moved out of my house I really had a tough time of it and always felt like I was being watched and experienced a lot of weird activity in my room. I was literally scared to death of whatever I thought was in there with me and I even tried to push away my gifts in order to ignore whatever it was. I guess it's possible that it could be a spirit but I have put up every protection that I've ever heard of to keep spirits or other being away.

Based on your last post it could also be part of yourself that you are afraid to face (like your gifts that you have pushed away) that are trying to come out of your subconscious to be recognized by your conscious mind (the coming out of the basement which could represent the subconscious and up the stairs representing moving to your conscious mind) and your dreams are showing you that.

Another thing to raise here, is have you messed eith ouija or seances? You see, stairs in dreams and meditation often represent the level of spiritual focus you are holding. Meditation will often ask you to walk down a flight of stairs to begin with to sink into concentration, then end with you going back up stairs. This can be substituted with counting and becoming more relaxed as you count, so I was wondering if you count your way to sleep. The 'spirit' doesn't sound like a normal traumatized, lost or earthbound soul to me, it may be a demon, vindicated soul or vengeful spirit. Also, dreams can be influenced by the energy around us, if you have a lot of emotional clutter (old things that you haven't packed up or thrown away) it creates a ideal environment for spirits and other metaphysical beings to work into your dreams. Learn protection spells, cut and clear energy in your home and clean up. Also, it is worth checking out ypur basement especially if your house is old, as even if you do not leave emotional clutter around, the previous residents may have exprienced deep emotions and/or been intoxicated in that room.
