i've been looking into different types of card readings, and Oracle sounds really interesting, anyone have any experience/thoughts about it?

I have some Fairy themed oracle cards. They are very accurate most of the time. They were a pretty good investment and I'm sure you'd like them too! :)

I have few years experience with them and for general reading i like them more than Tarot .Also they come based on many themes and i am sure you will find at least one that appeals to you ,something that seems to not be happening much for me with the Tarot .
I also find that i am getting correct readings and i have had success with those doing reading for myself and for others too .
My favorite one is celtic messages oracle and it happens to be my older one too .At the moment i do have like a collection already (seems like if you get one you love them so much you can not stop purchasing them ).If i have to point second one favorite i would say The fairies' Oracle by Brian Froud and Jessica Macbeth .Brian is amazing artist his work is like not from this world that good he is ,also Jessica is excelent writer of the book which matches the deck (it is not a booklet it is a middle size hard cover book ).
Otherwise i have oracle decks on many themes such :angels ,powerful animals ,plant oracles ,and even crystals .All of the things in which i am interested in i have got a deck for divination based on them so it is helping my work .You also can use the images of the cards to meditate over .
For example let say you have got wolf totem and you have some sort of powerful animals deck you can pull the card and meditate over it in order to connect to its medicine .
If you have further more questions let me know .By the way most of the oracle decks are used in one direction ,i have just two that can be used reversed too in similar fascion as Tarot .I like the reversals ,because you can cover wider field of experience and circumstances while doing reading and finding answers .

wow, thanks. at Yule i was given two dragon decks, one was tarot and the other i learned was oracle. i like the oracle more than the tarot for some reason. i've always been interested in learning tarot, but for some reason i can never use them because i find them confusing, and i can't remember what the cards mean. i have a friend, and a cousin, who are both amazing with tarot. i think oracle will work for me. though i have heard good and bad to them, so i'm gonna try learning tarot yet again, but i'm probably going to focus on oracle.

Nothing wrong to use them both .I use Tarot for more detailed readings and oracle for more general ones .Also i have seen people in youtube using them in same time for one reading. I have done that too and it works for me .You can always pull few additional oracle cards to gain more understanding to a Tarot reading .However pull maximum three not more or your reading may get too confusing .

Oracle cards are great. However, when it is their time to go, They will go.

This is an interesting thread. I just bought a deck of Oracle cards and love using them. They are VERY accurate. I always do a divining spell before hand and it's always right on. I've never tried to read anyone else though.

@Jiggy What do you mean "when it is their time to go, they will go"?

@ Artindark, i tried the three one, works well, but i find the cross [i call it the celtic cross, but people tell me that it has 8 cards to it] with five cards is the best. i've tried a few different spreads with the cards and that one works best in my opinion.

Actually the Celtic Cross has ten cards to it. That said, oracle cards work well for me. I have a Goddess deck.
