A Book of shadows and a Grimoire are the same thing, just diff name for it, at least as far as I know.

While their the same thing, I like to see some differences in them for my own sake. I see the BOS as something personal like the BOM, and the GRW as someonething that a group or coven would use. I know that this is not the case, but its just something I do to easily tell the difference between the two different types of spellbooks.

Personally I see BoS as more of like a witches book, and a grim more like a druid/wizard book. Kind of like a female and male term for the same thing.

That would be a good way of looking at it. Oh, I don't know if all druids are like this, but I know that the druids in my circle keep not only a group book and a personal book of spells, but a book of mirrors as well. For those who may not know what a book of mirors is, it is a book where you reflect on things to get a better perspective of yourself and your skills as a caster.
