Fairie Circle?
By:
For the past week or so I've been studying magick as much as possible, more than I have since I joined SOM. And ever since, I've noticed a small "garden" of mushrooms growing in my front yard. It wasn't until today that I noticed they were formed in a circle. My dad called it a Fairie Garden. Are fairies real? Is the "garden" tied into something supernatural? Or is it all a coincidence?

Fairies can be seen as spirits, so in that case, they exist In accordance to our belief in them. They're considered to be tied to nature in popular culture, but it also depends on different cultures and traditions. One little belief is held that mushrooms that grow in a circle are the work of fairies, and it would be ill-advised to step into one, for fear of being snatched away by the fairies. Or so the superstition goes.

Mushrooms grow in circles. That is the beginning and end of that. Although not all reproductive nodes of a fungus grow into mushrooms, when cknditions are favorable more mushrooms tend to grow from the fungus.

The cinnection with fairies comes from an old belief that spirits made things happen. People used to believe fairies made mushrooms grow in a circle to host their gatherings. That is the origin of that term.

Are fairies real? Not physically. That is a matter of belief, though, for spiritual creatures.

Faeries exist on another plane, although there are ways to access such a place.
