Merry Meet

Unfortunately no one really knows, different faiths believe different thing. The scientific answer is you cease to exist. you body remains but your brain is gone therefore your consciousness and what makes you you is gone as well. I believe in reincarnation, other believe in a heaven or hell type concept. You need to do some soul searching and come to your own conclusions about the afterlife.

Regarding your comment about "trying it out" I hope you are not referring to suicide. Life is constantly changing, the bad will make way for the good. You matter, even if your mind is telling you otherwise, so many people will be effected, even if you don't believe it to be true. Besides, even if their reincarnation, heaven, or nothing, this lifetime will end forever. Please, if you are contemplating suicide, talk to someone, doesn't have to be a loved one, there's help lines you can call and just talk. It's surprising how saying your pain out loud to a complete stranger really does help.

Blessed Be.

you're not actually planning to kill yourself are you? it's unclear what happens after death beyond faith or theories so please don't try and see for yourself

http://tinybuddha.com/blog/didnt-kill-shouldnt-either/

that's an article i read last week which really hit me. i was depressed for a time, and i thought about just falling asleep forever [so, essentially dying] talk to someone if you are please because you're not alone, it's not easy, but things will get better, trust me.

Reddish your life matters and it bring tears to my eyes just to read the pain that you are beariing. Please reach out to someone because no one really knows what is on the other side and it may not seem like it right now, but is it worth the risk? I'm no professional but I've been through what you are going through numerous of times so if you would like to reach out to me for any reason please feel free to do so,

Blessed be.

This is something you cannot just "try out". You die, you die. It does not even make sense to say "try out" when it comes to this. Please consider getting some help, or finding someone to talk to.

As the wheel of life turns, so does our cycle of rebirth. Depending on you faith and karma, each person can be reborn to another being. If the person is full of evil karma, that person will be reborn to a lower being to serve the karma. Some go to hell to burn off the bad karma. However, some people can stay in hell forever. If people prayed for the being that died(whether it be animal, insect, human, or whatever), then the soul of the being would be able to go into a much better rebirth and sometimes paradise. The bodhisattva Ksitigarbha was once a girl in his previous lives. When the girl's mother died, she made daily offerings to the bodhisattvas and Buddhas for her mother to be in paradise. This eventually helped and the bodhisattvas showed her that her mother was no longer in hell due to prayers. However, when she saw hell, she felt huge pity for the people suffering. So then, she made a vow to help all beings from hell. This led her to later be reborn as the Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva. Ksitigarbha is a bodhisattva of the dead and children. He helps people in hell and another bodhisattva who helps out is Guan Yin, the bodhisattva of compassion and mercy.
