Recurring Nightmare
By:
I'm in a field. The flowers are in bloom and the sky is clear. The atmosphere is happy and vibrant until I pick one of the lilies. The flower turns to ash in my hand and when I look up everything has died and the sky is maroon. I hear a deep growl behind me and when I turn a mass is growing from the earth and a beast much like a wolf made from roots and twigs emerges. It has deep red eyes and yellow teeth. I want to run but I'm always frozen in place. The beast snarls at me before lunging and right when it's claws make contact and it is able to bite at my neck I wake up. This has been returning to me for seven years and it's starting to effect my life. I'm afraid to go into the grass higher than my ankles. I can no longer roam the forest in fear of a creature that I'm not sure even exists. I need help sorting this out once and for all.

Generally recurring nightmares happen because of something un-dealt with in the subconscious, be it spiritual or mundane in nature (and dreams are not always literal).

When you're awake, try relaxing some to enter an altered state of consciousness and begin recalling the dream (trance allows for reentering the dream while awake). Begin to interact with the aspects of the dream to determine what sort of message it might have had for you.
