Identifying a Spirit

Okay, so I know a higher being(a spirit) named James Edward Williams(I made a character based off of him so if you look up the name you will see the character but if you really want to see what he looks like I can send you a picture.) We have a father-daughter relationship.

The thing is that all he can remember is his name. He has told me repetitively that he feels like he had a family in life, and that he misses them. He wishes he could remember them, but he cannot.

I have done some research, and I have found the name "James Edward Williams" in a cemetery a few town over from before I moved(he moved with me so he's not attached to one location). On the grave marker, it said "Loving husband and father" (he is bi, but leans more towards men. Though I could see him falling for a woman if he found the right woman.)

Someone on this site did a reading said that he was a higher being, and confirmed my suspicions that he had been human before becoming a spirit. But they also said he had been damaged by attempts to control, torture, manipulate, and capture him.

Is there any good way to heal him and/or get him to remember his past life? Feedback would appreciated.

Might be he needs help to go into the Light. He may have forgotten by staying behind for so long. If you can communicate with him, you might give him the reminder that its the next step. Just a thought...

I agree with Star. Perhaps he hasn't moved on, or depending, he can't find the way into his next life?

How long has this spirit been hanging around you?

I can communicate with him very easily, but he's told me many times that he doesn't want to move one and that he's afraid of what might happen.

He's been hanging around me for about six or seven years.

Some of the Dead can not remember who they are/were due to things they may have done or because they simply can not. As said before, it would be best if he crossed over to Paradise. Guide him and tell him to let go. Relax. The way to cross over is to be at peace with yourself and what you have done.

I want what's best for him, but he doesn't want to pass on and he said he feels like he's supposed to be here. He said that he feels like he's supposed to be watching over me and that he doesn't want to leave until I don't need him anymore. He's very stubborn so I probably won't be able to convince him otherwise. I've tried in the past, he gave me the cold shoulder for a while.

He wants to be able to retrieve the memories he's lost. He is actually terrified of the idea of passing on into the light because he firmly believes there's nothing on the other side. He actually started crying in fear when talking about it. From his reaction to the idea of passing on, I don't think he's ready or willing to pass on yet. I'm not going to force him to do something that he doesn't want to do.

He will remember after he crosses, as I believe we all return to the One energy we came from. That's why they say we will recognize our loved ones. Reassure him all will be good. BB

You don't understand, he WANTS to stay on Earth for the time being until he feels that he's ready to go and he's afraid of passing on because he fears that there will be nothing there and he will just simply cease to exist. I've tried to tell him that it's probably not like that, but he's still afraid.

I was looking for a spell that could help jog his memory.

This is an ongoing thing for you, right? See if you can dig up more information on who he was when he was alive, you've found his grave, that's a start. Go from there.
