If I join a coven and then try and do spellwork on my own, will I drain power from other coven members?

Only if you're trying to. (And I can't imagine why you would want to)

I don't want to drain power from anyone. But I don't want to only to magick with others. I just won't join a coven if it drains people when I work alone

I think your assuming there's some mystic bond between coven members that requires them to cast spells together or link energy like media portrays it sometimes. such as shows like the Secret Circle. A coven can cast spells together, but they're not magickally linked nor have their energies pooled together. You can be in a coven and cast spells singularly, such as the way online covens generally function as distance along with varying time zones makes the concept of casting group spells difficult.

You are not going to drain energy from your coven's other members if you are doing spellwork on your own. In fact, it is unlikely that you would do that even if you actually tried to do it if the other members of the coven didn't wish to have it done. I have been in covens for over 20 years and it was never a problem working both in circle and on my own. I wouldn't worry about stealing another coven member's energy just because you are casting a spell by yourself.
