Magick

Hi,

I was wondering, why do some (if not most) spells require a PentaGRAM? Isn't that the sign of the devil? Is magick in general coming right from the devil? I need to know if I'm going to get into this type of stuff.

Thanks,

No magick has no relation to the devil this is because some people don't even believe in the Devil. As he is only a representation of Christianity.

The Pentagram is a star all by itself, a pentacle although is a star within a circle. It also has nothing to do with the Devil, unless the users intent is to have a relationship with demons. The factor still remains not everyone believes in the Devil (Satan). The pentacle is a symbol that is used in a lot of religions.

So to answer your question, no it's not "Devil" worship or anything like that. As we all have different beliefs.

Deciding whether a symbol is used for the devil, another god, or not depends on the person's belief and intent. If you decide to use it for your own meaning then do it. It's all about what you believe in. Not everyone believes in the devil though and does not believe a pentagram or pentacle is evil. I believe it's good nor bad, but it's just are minds that give it those characterics for what someone is using it for. If I am correct; to correct witchessong, not everyone who works with demons believe in the devil either so it's not unless which she stated. To me, a pentagram/pentacle can have a infinite amount of definitions. The reason why is because a belief does not make it true and a pentagram/pentacle is used for so many things and is in several paths as well. Also Christianity may have beliefs about a devil, but it is not the only place he or she has been stated in. You have other people outside of the religion who works with him and other's that interpret him or her differently. Like said above, a pentagram is just a star and a pentacle is a circle with a star in it. Also magick can or cannot come from the devil. Again, it is based on how you believe in it.

If you don't feel comfortable using a pentagram then feel free to switch it with another symbol you want to use. No harm in that at all.

Hopefully this helped clear it up.

I haven't came across any spells that require a pentagram. Too be honest, Many non-believers think that magick is all about working with the devil, which is totally wrong.

Dear,

I think you are a bit confused here.

The pentacle is not the sign of the devil.

It is an ammulet of protection (and power) for the most part and it represents the elements therefore the powers of nature. It is used in some paths like wicca.

Not all spells need a pentacle. That depends on the caster and its relegion or personal belief of God, diety etc.

Magick comes from within not from the devil.

I hope that was clear.

Fox, we're not talking about the pentacle, we're talking about the pentagram.

Pentacle and pentagram are 2 different things.

My bad I read wrong.

The pentacle as a sign represents the elements therefore the powers of nature.

It is an ammulet of protection (and power) for the most part and it is used in some paths like wicca.

The pentagram

was considered by many as the symbol of satan

But

It is a symbol of power (over the elements) (that's why it is upside down)

Not all spells need a pentagram. That depends on the caster and its relegion or personal belief of God, diety etc.

Magick comes from within not from the devil.

I hope that was clear.
