Can anybody tell me how to do real alchemy with real transmutation circles and which circles are for what use? Basically I want to make things out of other things. Like in the anime Fullmetal Alchemist Ed and Al took some simple ingredients and poured it into a transmutation circle and created a wooden doll for their friend Winry. I want to do stuff like that. Real simple stuff like that. The thing is I just don't know how.
Unfortunately, Alchemy is quite unlike Fullmetal Alchemist (believe me, I've seen one and used the other). If you are interested in learning real alchemy, check out the Book of Aquarius.
What your asking for isnt simple at all. Everything is made up of atoms but nobody can deconstruct these billions of atoms or reconstruct them not to mention that all atoms are different so you can't simply convert one thing to another.
Alchemy was simply Chemistry. Chemistry originates from Alchemy. When the Christians where hunting and prosecuting the practitioners of Magic, the Alchemist's simply changed there name to Chemist's and said it was science not magic. So in a sense, Alchemist's are Chemist's so I would learn Chemistry for real Alchemy.
I've studied alchemy myself (the Book of Aquarius is below), and I can assure you that real alchemy doesn't work at all like in FMA. Transmutation circles are inspired by Hermetic Magic, which only has a philosophical relation to alchemy. Additionally, Equivalent Exchange isn't touched upon directly, purification through effort is more along the lines of true alchemy. The Philosopher's Stone also doesn't require human sacrifice, it gathers life energy in a much more efficient manner.
Transmutation is taking something lesser and transmuting it to it's greatest form. In FMA they really stretch out what you can transmute. (Kimblee can transmute matter into an explosive substance.) Real life alchemy is kinda like science with magic elements in it. You don't just draw a hexagram, clap your hands, and then expect an apple to explode. It has allot more chemistry to it.
