Sources of strength

The Ascendant, The Surround, The Self

The Ascendant includes the spiritual entities that surround our lives, whether that be our deities, the spiritual forces that once were a part of our world, or everything in between. This, is the easiest and most effective source of strength, for it is a force that is conscious and in full control of its own energy. When we pray to a deity we call upon the power of the ascendant to perform an act for us. Through appeasing these spiritual forces, wishes, prayers, and requests can become reality and have magnificent effects. Unfortunately, we must remember that this force has a consciousness of its own and therefore may choose not to fulfill our request but fulfill them in a way they see fit or fulfill them in a way we would have never expected nor wanted. The simple need to appease an entity is never guaranteed to work successfully, therefore, though the easiest source of strength to call upon; it is also the least practical

The next source of strength is The Surround. Being the second easiest and second most effective, this energy is found around us, on our plane of existence. The Surround is unconscious, and thus free to control, bend, and manipulate, using this energy is simply the state at which we manipulate the free energy around us to perform our desires. The disadvantage of this energy is the fact that it is separate from us, because of this, we need outside sources to help bridge the gap between us and the unconscious state of energy.  To better explain this it is best to look at a puppet; we do not control the puppet directly but instead tug and pull on strings, which in turn allows the puppet to dance and movie in the way we wish. Unfortunately, even if one masters the art of ‘tugging strings’, we can never truly move the puppet in the smallest and most accurate, intricate ways. This makes it a flawed source and thus, the second least practical.

The last source of strength is known as The Self. It is the energy within us, our very body and soul, making up our entire being. This is the hardest energy to control, also the least effective in the beginning.  The Self is an energy source that is bent to our will alone, not able to manipulate or resist because it is us. When mastered, it is a most powerful source of energy, strength, and power; not being dependant on another consciousness nor the use of ‘strings’. Thus free to move, manipulate and bend in the most intricate, sensitive, and smallest ways to whatever degree. What makes this so difficult to use is that there are many factors that limit and bend it all within us, some include doubt, confusion, fear, lack of focus, and lack of self confidence. It is because of these states of mind that make this the hardest form of energy to use, though when used correctly, the results can be beautiful and/or dangerous. This energy becomes the most practical of the three, also the most powerful.

Interesting post. May we please have a source referrence? I'm sure you didn't come up with all of that off of the top of your head. =)

Actually... this is all just theoretical, so yeah... an epiphany lead to this post...

Really? Very nice then. I don't agree with it all, but we can't all agree. I believe that all three should be utilized in combination for the best results. I do like the part about the Self though, it was very well written.

Interesting theory. I never separated the energy into different categories, just pull it from the direction it flows.

It is true, all three can be combined for the best results. Though, as said, the source from the Ascendant has its own will, making it limited to you and the source from the surround can only be used to a certain degree. This is all theory, and I can be completely wrong, but The Self is the most potent source of energy because it is bent by your will alone, making it a free source like the surround, and can be bent to what ever degree you can will it to be.

This makes for the best, and most predictable results. As said, dealing with outside entities as a source can become unpredictable, as they have a will of their own and may or may not aid you. But yes, you are right, all three can be used together for the best results.

Would you care to better explain?

I mean that when ever the energy is needed it flows to me from the appropriate source, I guess. I never gave much thought to specifying what direction it came from.

Out of curiosity, which of these do you believe is the most stable form? And which do you believe is able to be controlled the most? I think this is very well written and would like if you expanded on it a bit.

Good point. The main Issue is the use and effectiveness of each source. While all three can actually be used for the same purpose, the source from The Self can become the most potent, and powerful source. Now remember, this is all theory, none of which I dictate as fact. I welcome disagreement, so long as one has a reason to state why they disagree.

Good questions LadyVendetta. In truth, I cannot say which is the most stable form. In general, it would have to be The Surround, as that form of energy is unconscious and therefore moves in the way we bend it without much hesitance, but, as said, only to a certain degree. The other two can have a better degree of stability, but that varies. The source from The Self is as stable as the person who uses it. While Person A may be a calm, collective person who can easily focus his will towards a certain goal, Person B, on the other hand, can be highly unstable, because of the mentioned variables (lack of focus, self doubt, etc.) , and thus, this source of energy is highly unstable in turn.
The same is true of the Ascendant. Many people look to many different spiritual entities for for aid, with many different needs. Depending on which entity you seek aid from, that source of energy can be either extremely stable, chaotic and thus unstable, or anywhere in between.

As for which is able to be controlled the most, I can respond saying that The Ascendant can be controlled the least, as it is a source with a consciousness of its own, with its own will, and completely out of your power. When calling to the ascendant, you call to another entity to do a bidding for you, with no actual control of whether it does it or not, and how it is done. The Surround, in general, is the easiest to control, with no will to go against your own, you are free to bend and manipulate it to your liking, but only to a certain degree, as stated earlier.

Overall, with practice, meditation, and the bettering of yourself and your mental, spiritual state, your Self becomes the most stable form and is able to be controlled the most, for in this one, your only limit is yourself.

I do hope you found this answer satisfactory in the least, if not, please say so, and I will try to go even further with this.
