I believe that the act of vocalising a spell, say, as a chant, adds to it's power simply because the vibrations of our voice strengthen our chakras, and causes a processs of movement. I like to sing and chant :)

I on the other hand, believe in mental focus and force of will, and vocalizing helps focus will and power. :)

Yes it can, but it isn't as easy as it sounds.

For starteres, you need to make the word vibrate phonetically. You can do this by stretching the word.

For example, the word "Aum" is often chanted in the following manner:

Auuuuummmmmmmmmm.... for as long as you can hold your breath.

Ofcourse the mind has to be devoid of other thoughts while working with this kind of magic. You also need to be good at meditating and should have complete control over your breathing.

With the word aum, for instance, you exhale while saying auuuuu and inhale while saying mmmmmmmmm. Try it, it isn't easy inhaling and chanting at the same time.

This method is pretty popular in vedic magic. Vedic magicians are conditioned from childhood to perform this sort of magic.

I've even heard that they chant a word or a string of words, while sitting in one position for days, sometimes months without food or water.

Good luck.
