the way i learnt tarot was i bought several books and learnt the basic meanings of each card from the different books. i learnt different spreads and started doing readings for people. then i came up with my own meanings and interpretations. i have written my own book. its better that way then you arent following the same meanings every time. follow your own thoughts and feelings about the cards.

the simplest spread is the 3 card spread called the past, present and future spread. or its called problem, suggestion, answer spread.

another favourite of mine is the seven spheres of life. they are love, work, money, family, health, travel and home. of course you dont have to follow them exactly.

theres also the celtic cross. it is a ten card spread. google it and see the layout.

theres also the 13 card spread for the year ahead, also called the calendar spread or the horoscope spread. 12 cards in a circle with a thirteenth in the middle. it represents the twelve months of the year and the middle one is a overall card for the year. the thirteenth is optional of course. just start at the current month

theres the 21 card spread. called the gypsy spread or the romany spread. three rows of seven cards presenting past, present and future.

some of the bigger spreads require more energy and concentration so its prob best to start out with small spreads and work your way up.

It is also important to develop your own meanings for the cards. if you use personal meanings mixed with the traditional ones, not only do you become more intune with your cards, but theyare easier to read rather than spouting out a bunch of meanings together
