The runes are an ancient Nordic form of script used before the emergence of written language, Taking the form on straight lines which where easy to cut into wood or stone. It is not certain how old they are but are estimated to originate from the bronze age.
I myself am going to help you here . You can come here from time to type if you need help with your runes.

Sometimes named: Fehu
Meaning: Cattle.

Sometimes called: Othillo or Othala
Meaning: Homestead
Description: For the home, family and integrity.

WYRD
It is difficult to represent on a candle is the Wyrd rune. Because its blank and it stands for the inevitable. To use this rune it is important to be really focused and to illustrate it. Simply draw a square with the corners rounded off and visualize the inevitable.

Covers a bitt of it. (don't gett me wrong. Good work. Butt there is more fore those 'searching' whithing the 'powers' of 'the hanging man'

It's a good start. (butt as in any 'art' there is more. )
google and so on, for those want to learn more about rune. And so on.

(I have not gone into the links about each rune. Butt I supose they will guaide you alott. )

my opinion. (from the parts I 'scimmed' Troue. )

awesome that is pretty useful stuff.
only thing is that for Algiz the picture link (http://www.antiquitiespewter.com/images/runes/Antiquities_00016.JPG) the link is broken because there is a space in between ru and nes =)

There is no Wyrd rune in the Futhark, its a modern addition that isn't accurate.

Sorry to disappoint you, mate, but you can't make an encyclopedia for runes this easy. There are many forms of the runes which is called 'Futhark' named after the first six fehu, urwaz, thurizas, aiwaz, rewur and kenwur which is the names in all the Futhark's. The oldest full we know of is the 24-futhark dated back to the first century.
And a little comment to the rune you call "Othel". 'Othillo' is a cheese - not a rune. The rune is called Othila or Othala.

Bunch of basic stuff you can find in one minute of googling?

So a newbie is gonna come in,read rune info,and great,what now?No practical info,explanations,interesting stuff,just boring "knowledge".

It took forever to type?Try lsd,fast writing,trances.
