Anything else to do?

This site was great... Most people say this is like a myspace for us... Others say that this is a site so we can talk to our own... But what if there is nothing else to do? Most of the covens don't really do anything and most of the people here just go to the Chat Box to talk about themselves or other people on there. Is there really anything good to do on here besides reading posts that are just to boring and looking up spells on here that are mostly fake? Has this site became so dull that everything has been used up already... Should there be something on this site that has to do with Yule or any other holiday we do? Think about it, this site doesn't have the bigger picture that we need but don't really see.

I completely agree, I tried a few different coven because I actually wanted to learn something, yet none of them actually do anything. The members never talk to each other and rarely post or answer a post in the coven forum.

When I first joined this sight, some of the covens were like that, but a lot were actually helpful and you could get answers. We need some way of motivating people to share their knowledge.

I disagree if you say that none of the covens here offer teachings. There are many good covens around here with knowledgeable members offering lessons/teachings, if you take a reasonable time to read their posts/coven bio. I agree that some covens have not been updating their info for a long time, but if you have chosen to join non-active covens, then we can't help you, it's your choice. If the way certain covens work is not appropriate for you, then maybe you just stay without coven. If you have joined the right coven, then I don't think there would be a reason to complain.

Yes, I know that the chatbox contains a few roleplayers & mysterious creatures, but the moderators are already helping about this matter. I believe that the Chatbox is a feature to know each other & help each other whenever it is needed.

As with any social, educational, and/or entertainment activity, it's all in what you, the individual, are willing to put into it that will determine what you get out of it.

Well, are there to many mods on this site? I am not saying their doing a bad job, but is it right to give that many people that much power?

Actually, there are 22 mods and over 80,000 members. Considering those statistics, i think the mod to member ratio is quite low.

And anyways, how does that have anything to do with not taking responsiblity for your own experience on this site? This is an example of attacking a strawman or making a strawman argument.

Just to chime in: If you find the threads boring, the chat not engaging, etc... then this may not be the place for you. There are hundreds of other magick-oriented sites out there. You can join a local coven, spend time at a library instead of on here, or you can stick around and start pushing for what YOU want to see. Bring up topics that are under-appreciated, or try to start something completely new. Don't expect others to do it for you :/ A community is a group effort, by definition.

Wow, I just said something about the mods and they feel attacked or something... Not sure why but oh well. Out of those 80,000 members... How many of them log on each day and post something?

They didn't seem that way to me, TrueAbyss. Actually depending on the 2 responses I just read from the 2 mods responding to this thread, I'd say they're quite understanding of your aquisition.

But let's not stray too far from what you're originally saying...
If you think this site has nothing more to offer, that it has indeed become "dull", I bid you to understand that this site is so popular in that it has it's own virtual covens, not because of the forums, not because of the chatter; because really Abyss, that's what other sites have, they aren't more equiped than this one to tell the truth. All sites are given the same things, a forum, a chatter.
Here we have viirtual covens with their own forums, THAT is what this site has to offer that others don't. Yeah there are those who have found ways to similar atributes but they aren't NEARLY as populated and loaded with info.

If you want to learn something new, I agree with Phoenix on this one... you actually have to put forthe effort to learn. Do not expect us to just hand it to you like you're something special that needs more attention than anyone else.

The mods, yeah, just 22. They probably receive enough complaints and bull all day to not have enough time to talk to Pet about accomidating you or any other members who feel this site may not have anything more to offer. The older more experienced members like Phoenix, LdyGry or Kikuyo, all you have to do is ask them to help you out or give you a couple lessons here and there. If in case they don't feel they need to teach you, I bet if you just ask them, they might just point you to someone who will.

As for that comment about "none" of the covens doing anything truly, personaly offends me and probably a few other people as well.

Sweety, go look in the public forums, scroll down to the covens forums, and read the one about a list. It will tell you a few of the good covens to try, so in the future I won't feel compelled to write something like this again towards you.

As an older member yourself, you shouldn't need either one of us to answer those questions ou posted here.

Thank you for reading, I don't mean to sound agrivated even though I am...

I am not asking for info or want to learn anything from anyone here because most of the people here are new and others just don't take the time to reply. This site does have covens, but some people don't think there real covens and if you want to make your own coven Pet might not let you on this site. Even if it is something useful or how long you have been learning magick. This site is dull because it only has a few things into it. Just now it has a store. I understand that it is growing, it is a given. I am not trying to say that the site should grow faster or anything. Just that out of those 80,000 members on here never log back on, don't look at the forums, just go on the chat box, or just stay log on without doing anything.

I also understand that there are other sites like this, but most of them you have to pay. The only difference that I could think of is the amount. But take out the members that never log on and the members that don't do anything. Then this site will be the same or lower rank then those other sites.

The ads on here are kinda annoying tho, I can understand when I can look away. But there is an ad that flashes and has some kind of robot that slows down the internet. That I can not look away. Just a thought really... There are also game ads like Immortal Night, not sure what that is about either.

The thing about role players tho, I am not really sure who they are and I really don't care... I am sick of people posting about them because it doesn't help me or them. I am posting this because it helps me get a better understand of what others think about the site and what I am talking about. I don't really care if it is something bad or rude just like to know how people are.
