Charcoal and its uses

I know that you may possibly use charcoal in cleansing when simmering sage.
I have a question and wondered if anyone possibly knew about charcoal lines drawn onto a floor or the ground and if so what effect should be expected by preforming such a task?
Thankyou

Hmmm I would think that it being black it would be good for drawing a protective circle, similar to using salt. I'm not actually sure of its effectiveness, as I don't often draw physical lines.

I was thinking something similar too Kik. Most of the time charcoal is more used for burning incense and such, not drawing physical lines. however, I've been skimming around and there is little to nothing on the net at all about a circumstance like this. This did remind me of the hoodoo brick dust line, similar to the same effect that you came up with. I've been asking around to a few people and found that that's just about it. Charcoal was used before brick dust. It has the same effect as using chalk.

See I thought of brick dust and chalk too, but what usually comes to mind when I think of magick circles or drawings are white materials. Not because "ooo black is evil!", but because white shows up better on the dark ground, or at night lol. Charcoal may be a good substitute if you're trying to be secretive about it.
