How to tell?

How do you find out if you are a witch? Many people ask how to do spells, and when they try it, it doesn't work. The real witches keep saying "practice", but people just can't do it. There are natural born witches, and there are people who don't even know it that can unlock the potential. So how do we test ourselves to know if we are a witch or not? I understand if you do not want to share this publicly, you can mail me. I Won't tell anyone, I'll even take an oath of secrecy.

Everyone has magickal abilities, there is not secret oath or society or anything.

A big part of unlocking your ability is meditation. This helps open your chakras. Also, before even attempting to cast spells, you need to understand the basics and do some research.

Helpful Books:

"Before You Cast a Spell" by Carl McColman
"Spells and How They Work" by Janet and Stewart Farrar
"Modern Magick" by Donald Michael Kraig

How to tell if you're a Witch?

The thing about Witchcraft, for many years and through many different cultures that have some kind of 'Magic belief' - the Craft is either in your blood, given to you or you find it on your own.

There are beliefs stretching centuries that say if you're marked from a young age by the Devil himself, you are a Witch - other beliefs say that you need to do a special initiation with the Spirits/Nature to become a Witch, the modern belief states that anyone can be a Witch - you just need to pick up a book.

All of these ways are correct, because they are correct to what that person believes - if you believe you need to be born special, than that is your personal belief and no one can truly refute that - my belief is that everyone has the potential, but you still need to go through certain trials and tribulations before you can truly call yourself a Witch.

I also believe that everyone has their own 'gift' at something, some people are born with a talent for singing, some for math, some for sports (Or certain kinds of sports) so I believe that some people have a talent for Magic.

At the end of the day.

This is something you have to figure out for yourself, people could tell you a 100 different ways to become or be a Witch, but ultimately its down to you - meditiation helps, but isn't always needed, chakras have relevance if you think they do,

Your belief is yours, you just need to figure out what is right for you.

'witch' is just a title like 'christian' or 'nerd' it doesn't really do anything. how would one be considered a 'nerd'? they would be into 'nerdy' things [comics, anime, obscure facts, collecting figurines] so how would one be considered a 'witch'? yes spell casting is a building block, there are witches who never cast spells. it's more about studying, observing, being aware of the energy around you, and your own inner self.

spell casting, isn't exclusive to a witch either, anyone can do it if they just know 'the basics' [look into the sites 'General Information' section of the forums there's a ton of helpful pinned threads to help you] to simplify it though, you need to connect with the natural energy around you, focus this energy, then visualize your desired outcome and release it on the path to bring your specific goal to you. there are limitations however to magick. on the physical plane, magick is a neutral energy ruled by nature, which means it can only work with [not contradict] nature. the energy can also only effect energy. [any instant dramatic changes will not work] as you study and practice more you'll begin to observe and understand magick.

regarding 'natural born witches' and 'unlocked potential' that's up for debate. while some believe certain things can be passed down in a bloodline [personally in my family woman have the ability to see/hear spirits and have prophetic dreams] the majority of 'hidden powers' are more things you need to practice. and as for heretic witches, i don't feel they have any more/less of an advantage outside of their parent can educate them. again, personal experience, my [married in] second cousin is a heretic witch, her daughter is an atheist. she was raised with a christian father and a pagan mother, and became an atheist. pedigree means nothing to me.
