It sounds a little unhealthy. Magick should be an integral part of one's life. Magick can be incorporated into the colors we dress in, the jewelry we wear, our daily bathing (cleansing), cooking (kitchen witchcraft), and the list goes on.

From an outsiders perspective, my life is very mundane. But in reality, I practice magick all day long. It is as natural as breathing. I'm married with two children and I'm 40 weeks pregnant...this kid really needs to hurry it up. =P
The point is, my life is full yet magick is never ignored.

I've seen people that dedicate themselves to magick add you are doing and then later realize they want love, family, or just plainly more. They know a ton about magick but that can't help them live a fulfilling life and it appears the hermit life really cripples their ability to know how.

My advice is to find balance in your life now and not put it on hold. You will create bad habits and personal philosophies that will work against your overall happiness. That goes for obsessing over anything. People that obsess over money and business success suffer the same fate.

I know you're excited and that's great that you have an insatiable desire to learn. But guess what? The learning doesn't end until we die! And even then it would take many life times to learn it all. It's an endless quest but one that reaps rewards throughout the work. You aren't going to get to the end, so there is no rush. What matters is taking value from it, leaning the mysteries, and feeling happy and fulfilled. Magick is wonderful but it can't fill all of that void alone.

Obsession < Latin: Ob-, "to" or "on" + session, "sitting." An obsession is in Latin was an occupation or beseiging, which are acts of compulsion on the occupied/besieged as well as the occupier/beseiger. Instead of 'constantly sitting' as in an obsession, consider planned sessions over which you have control. A session in Latin was a legal procedure, well planned with well defined procedures. A session of magick means you have the power, an obsession means you are abdicating your power.

Well to help overcome with your addiction you need to take things nice and slow. If you do magic 18 hours a day try to reduce it to 9 hours a day within the first month. Then continue reducing your obsession slowly within the year until you find a reasonable amount to spend time on magic per day.
