Consciousness

Has anyone here had an experience of drifting in and out of consciousness during astral projection? When I woke up, there were large gaps in my memory of what had happened during the time I was out of body. Might anyone have any information as to what causes it? My only guess is that I wasn't completely focused. If you have experienced this, I'd love to hear your experience as well!

It sounds from your description that you fell asleep while astral projecting. This is a pretty common occurrence and nothing to worry about. To prevent falling asleep you might want to try working in a sitting position where you are not so apt to drowze off.

Thanks! I have tried the sitting position before and it wasn't comfortable enough. Though, I can change the way I utilize it. I plan on studying much more about projection so I should have plenty of time to practice. :)

A tip my friend told me is to use a blind fold so you don't fall asleep .

You could also sit or lay wih one arm slighty raised, soon as you doze off, the arm drops and you awaken :-)

I sometimes stand or lean, that way my equilibrium starts me up again.

What I do is I sit in the corner on a blanket with a pillow or two behind me so it's as comfortable as if I was lying down but I sit up and I also wear a blindfold. I haven't fallen asleep since I started doing it this way. Hope this helps!
