I don't get it.

One of the things I don't understand about Christianity is the homophobia, homosexuality is attributed the the sin of lust, but you can't help who you find attractive, and yes,gay and bi people can be very sexual, but you can heterosexuals, and than there is transgenderism, they seem to confuse thins with homosexuality, but transgenderism isn't even about your feelings towards other,it's about the sense of self and again,it can't be helped, and not all gay and bi people are perverts, some just want a regular relationship with their partner, and conversion therapy doesn't work, even the people who claimed that they can change you are admitting it doesn't work,I just don't get how they can believe god will punish people for something that they can't help.

Coming from a christian familiy, I can shed some light on this.

In a few parts of the Bible, it very straightforwardly says that homosexuality is wrong, an abomination. It also mentions how sexual acts should only be done in marriage and only for making new life.

While the Bible does say these things, I know that not all Christians agree with it. That goes to show that you don't have to agree and follow every part of a religion to be a part of it.

That being said, I personally think it is wrong and extremist to think that homosexuality of any sorts is wrong, and I think that sexuality should be celebrated, not ignored. People who follow the idea that homosexuality is wrong, belive in their hearts that is is a choice to be that way, even if it isn't.

This site is for the discussion of topics related for magic, not for addressing the pros and cons of religious belief.

You are mistaking Christianity with Catholicism. Some Christian "sects" may condemn homosexuals, The Catholic Church never did!
It has to do with the Sacrament of Baptism. Originally, Baptism was to "wash away the stain of the original sin". The sin of Adam and Eve. When it became a Sacrament (At Nicea)there had to be a vow that all consequent children would be brought up as Catholics. If the Baptised child then became, or was, a homosexual, then there were no children, and therefore a Sin. The Catholic view was that homosexuality was a Sin. They did not condemn the "action", they condemned the Sin!
Mail me, and I will exoplain it all to you.
