Hi , i;ve read the book of Don Juan teachings

I got the chapter 1 , and it seems the mescalito is great but strange .
This is my opinion of , what mescalito is ?

Mescalito is a meditation that works with colors but you must find the place that have the difference from other places , i'd tried it and it dont work on me because the spots are not different , so mescalito is same as peyote , as just what don juan says ...... i know my information is must be fluffy , but do someones encounter mecalito ?

It's actually not a bad post. It might not help a lot but it's a start. This meditation is hard. It shouldn't be fluffy.

So far as I know mescalito is just another name for peyote. It is a cactus. When ingested it causes hallucinations. It grows in Mexico.

Mescaline, the hallucinogenic drug derived from peyote, is illegal in most countries, and as with all hallucinogenic drugs can be dangerous.

People have the tendency to have 'bad trips' if that is what they are expecting, the use of drugs in magick is a taboo topic and not one I believe has its place in this forum. I also personally believe anyone who relies on drugs to reach a trance state are taking a faster, dangerous route and not developing necessary skills.

I will say one thing, if you do wish to pursue any activity which has a possibility of harming you, you must have someone with you who is in perfect control and preferably learn from someone who knows what they are doing.

As for meditating that is easy, just focus on the breath for now, do this for five minutes at first, directing all your attention and awareness to it.

I won't say much on auras, as I believe there are a few methods, and it has been documented many times before on this site.

We must it clear,Hadit, that not all drugs are dangerous with proper use. Drugs have been used in witchcraft for centuries! But, an overdose of any drug can be dangerous!

My main point was that without proper knowledge of the dosage and the option of having someone there to walk you through it, the use of drugs which have hallucinogenic properties can be harmful to an individual in a mental and physical way. In terms of them harming themselves during the experience, and not the drug harming them physically in a chemical way.

I am by no means marching an 'anti-drug' banner, however, I don't necessarily think it is a good idea to suggest to 13 year olds that drugs are a necessity and a good idea to use in magick, and that Mescaline (Or any drug) is safe to use even if you do not know what you are doing.

I don't think anyone is telling 13 year olds to go ahead and take drugs. There is too much worry over this in our modern society. I believe the lack of involvement of the parents and the community to raise a child whom understands and practices common sense fuels this.

There is nothing wrong with using any natural substance to achieve a trance state so long as you understand the risks one is taking. In fact it may help one whom is struggling with ego or emotions break through and be able to achieve healing. I have witnessed this happen many times during my life. The people where always with experienced elders just in case and those elders knew and taught others what to do if a situation occurred.

An example would be when someone experiences a sensory overload while under the influence and needs to be placed in a safe location which decreases their exposure to that which caused the overload. Common sense applied you move them to a quiet space with low lighting. I have even been a part of the group effort to utilizing singing bowels to change the vibrations surrounding the person suffering. This helps to cleanse out negative energies that are affecting the situation,

Remember shamans and other elders have been using natural substances to heal and aid trance states for thousands of years. A sweat lodge is used to achieve trance states and help heal however they too can be just as dangerous if not utilized properly.
